On Sunday the 8th August after a lot of thought Nicki decided to take part in the Rother Valley Country Park, Big Fun Run in Sheffield. She says “I successfully ran the 5k at Rother Valley Country Park on Sunday and it was a really good run. I ran it in 33 minutes, 29 seconds. No idea whether that is “good” or not but was 3 minutes faster than I had done the same distance in training, so I was chuffed – and that was without my running buddy Nicki who was ill!”
Here Nicki is pictured before the run with her dog, Mac and again at the end showing us her hard earned medal.
Nicki is now planning to take part in The Great Yorkshire Run in less than 4 weeks time! “Training is going well” she says, “I am up to 4.5 miles and hoping to do 5 miles this Sunday. And I keep having to up my fundraising target. I had originally thought I would aim for £200 but I am already at over £450!”
The EPT is delighted at Nicki’s success so far and her fantastic fundraising efforts. If you would like to sponsor her, you can do so online on her Vigin Money Giving page
