One in eighty of those who conceive will have an ectopic pregnancy – where the egg implants outside the womb causing a serious threat to the mother’s health. The best surgical techniques can prevent future complications such as infertility – and can also speed up a woman’s recovery. Yet not all women are offered these treatments.
