Loraine Carter shares her Marathon experience

One of our valued marathon team runners, Loraine Carter has been in touch to give us this account of her day.

“Wow what a day! The sun was shining, the atmosphere on the trains and at the red start was fantastic! I was absolutely buzzing and couldn’t wait to get started althoug a bit nervous!

I had a brilliant first 15miles!  The crowd were amazing and seeing my family and friend at the 14 mile mark really lifted me.
The heat started to get to me a bit after that and I had suffered some knee trouble in training and I was in a bit if pain by about 20 miles.

I must admit I found the last 4 miles extremely tough. The crowd got me through that part.  I have never been so pleased to see Buckingham palace!
I finished with a time of 4hrs 53, so was very happy.
I feel very honoured and proud to have been able to run and raise money for your charity! And thank you for the amazing experience and memories I will cherish from the day”

Our congratulations to Loraine and to our other Gold Bond team members for their amazing achievement.
