National Baby Loss Awareness Week

Baby Loss Awareness CampaignThis week is National Baby Loss Awareness Week and we invite you to take part in the “Wave of Light” ceremony on 15 October at 7pm.

To commemorate the “Wave of Light”, anyone wishing to do so can light a candle and let it burn for at least an hour in remembrance of the babies and infants who have died and in support of those affected by the loss of a baby.

The Baby Loss Awareness Campaign is a collaboration of charities and not for profit organisations. The Campaign facilitates those whose lives have been touched by the loss of a baby during pregnancy or just after birth to unite with others across the UK. The focus of Baby Loss Awareness Week falls on International Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day on 15 October.

As in previous years, the campaign encourages the “Wave of Light” and other events across the UK. To see if there is an event near you, check out the official website of the founding charities and not for profit organisations at the Baby Loss Awareness Campaign website events page.

Whether you decide to participate in an organised event, quietly light a candle or not, we wish that the day passes peacefully for all and that it brings another little piece of healing.
