[Epub ahead of print) in that offers an excellent review of the mechanism of action of chlamydia on the Fallopian tube – what we know and where the gaps are in our knowledge. It is a review of the literature – so rather summarise the paper here – we advise you to read it!
Professor Tom Bourne is consultant gynaecologist at Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital, Imperial College London, and visiting Professor at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium. He was a founder member of ISUOG (1991). He has extensive clinical and research experience with early pregnancy complications and gynecological ultrasound. He has published over 230 academic papers and his H-index is 46. He sits on the steering committees of the IOTA and IETA trials. He has acted as an expert adviser to NICE and to the Society of Radiologist in Ultrasound in the USA. He sits on the RCOG ultrasound training committee and is trustee of the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.
