Your hcg levels are very but I think once they are under 5000 it's ok to have the shot. I think once they can see the sac and fetal pole they prefer to do surgery as the shot is unlikely to work, but I would definitely go for the shot if the option was there.

When I had my first ectopic I had the methotrexate then went on to have surgery and had my left tube removed. I bleed for 8 days only and my period returned after 38 days.
Its been 6 days after after my second ectopic surgery and the bleeding started 2 days after surgery and still going.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had an ectopic in Feb and lost my left tube on the 4/2/17 I then had bleeding from the 6th- 14th which wasn't heavy but I needed a pad. My period didn't return until 38 days after the surgery and I had cramping throughout my first cycle but it wasn't very heavy. I have had...
