Re: Possible ectopic/PUL

Yes as per my screen name I had the PUL ectopic thing for a while. mine grew and shrunk for a while (7 weeks) but resolved without medication or surgery. Impacted my mental health though and was a commitment going to the hospital every 48hrs for monitoring not knowing what was happening. Take care o...

Re: Hormone levels below 10 but new pain?

I had lots of weird pains including ovulation so severe it felt like a different body. But it did settle down with time. Don't think it's unusual

Re: The anxiety and uncertainty...

I had similar numbers but clinicians decided to wait for it to resolve on its own. The testing and false starts for methotrexate and surgery took its toll on ym mental health. But it did resolve on its own. It's not unusual to pass a decidual cast if it is ectopic. I passed 2 Triangular womb shaped ...

Re: Down but discharged

I was very peculiar for about 4 months after the ectopic resolved! Went back to work but felt in another world, didn't truly care about what I was doing. It was shock. Slowly normality creeps in. Take it day by day and hour by hour when needed

Re: Self-resolved ectopics please share stories

Hey sorry I don't check the boards as regularly now but like you I wanted stories of expectant management. I did post my story in Dec last year but I started around 375 and it took 2 months of growing then shrinking for it to resolve Had some pains after which when I saw a consultant gynae we realis...

Re: Confused after unplanned ectopic pregnancy

I feel the same confusion a year later. Not wanting kids essentially (the pill kills any broodiness for me), turning 34 with a 1/10 chance of it happening again and a long distance relationship. Do I get on it and try for a baby I'm not sure I want to make sure I have time or not? Who knows. Confusi...

Re: After Expectant Management-pain

I had similar pain including one episode of acute pain. They did wonder if it was a cyst in the site of the ectopic but nothing showed on scans (ultrasound was weeks after the acute pain which could've been a burst). I had persistent pain often when going to the loo etc on that side It did settle wi...

Re: Expectant management query

Can you get regular HCG tests? I was cleared to fly once mine were in the 70s but regularly dropping. What I would say is they can go up as well as down, it's not unheard of so you do need close monitoring. I had expectant management. Is methotrexate an option in the country you're in? If it was me ...

Re: Expectant Management or Methotrexate?

Can't advise as everyone's journey is individual . I did expectant management for about 7 weeks and by the end was begging for the methotrexate (which had initially terrified me). If you don't want delays in trying to conceive it may be worth waiting it out. But take into consideration your mental h...

Re: Expectant Management- Almost at 0

Yes it went on for approximately 6 months and still doesn't feel quite normal. But it's quite common. Ovulation is a lot more painful and breaks through the pill (whereas previously my pill stopped it).

It can take a while to feel a new normal physically

I had the same thing. Are you still going through tests? It's particularly upsetting after passing the cast as it feels so complete. I thought it was over. Hope you're okay

I was discharged at 5.3

I trust they know what they’re doing and private scans for me would’ve added to the anxiety.

Re: Counselling

You can usually self refer to Nhs Talking therapies in your area. It’s worth checking with your gynae or clinicians or early assessment pregnancy unit. I know they had the offer at my hospital for specialised counselling around fertility and early pregnancy loss that they could directly refer into. ...

I bled throughout my management for 7 weeks. Bleeding daily but stop start throughout the day, everything from spotting to passing tissue. Some people don’t bleed at all. Really varies

Re: Expectant Management- is this normal?

I don’t think the standard charities suggest there is a reason with expectant management.

I have read more alternative stuff that also made sense, that it’s good to let any inflammation go down to reduce the chances of it happening again. Don’t know how much of that stuff is hippie stuff though.

Re: Expectant Management- is this normal?

My experience was slightly different but just a warning that you can ovulate before the brown discharge ends so if you’re not trying to conceive, be aware of that.
