Re: Emotional day

Hi lovely, I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. It's such a trauma to go through. Sending you lots of love and strength. My ectopic was in January and while I was sitting in the hospital waiting for my op my good friend messaged me to tell me she was pregnant and my best friend had just had her baby ...

Re: New here

Hi lovely, I had my ectopic in January and I promise things will get easier, both physically and mentally. It took me till mid March to begin to feel like myself again. You must not blame yourself and just be open with your partner about how you both are feeling and coping. Even though my surgery wa...

Re: Exercise post laparotomy surgery

Hi! I had my op Jan 10th and I felt I could only start high intensity stuff mid to the end of March because of pain and discomfort. I can now pretty much do anything but I have found my fitness levels have really plummeted! So I am building those up and trying to get back to where I was!!! Good luck...

Hi lovely, I'm so sorry to hear your news. I had my first ectopic in January but I had an op to sort it. Time does make you feel better and now I am in such a better place. I did tell friends and I found it useful. Some have kids and some don't. It was useful because people started telling me about ...

Re: Alopecia after surgery

I've noticed that my hair is much thinner and very brittle. I thought it was just a coincidence and it's been really bugging me. I did wonder if it was a hormonal thing x

Re: Pain during recovery

Awww bless you, at least you have got it sorted and hopefully the antibiotics will work quickly. I understand the feeling of being a burden as I felt like that, it's hard as none of your family or friends understand how you feel and a lot of people focus on th physical recovery. However, I promise i...

Re: Week 1 after keyhole surgery, recovery advices are neede

Yes, most definitely. When it happens you feel like the only person in the world who is going through it. It was so lonely because I felt like no one understood so being on here felt good and so useful. I felt so confused and upset and disappointed for weeks but now I'm 5 weeks post op, I feel more ...

Re: Pain during recovery

Hi lovely, I am now 5 weeks post surgery and my experience with pain sounds quite similar to yours. In the two weeks post surgery I had a lot of pain, with most of the pain in the belly incision. I had a lot of pain in the tubeless side and overall stabbing pelvic pain. The pain then moved on to con...

Re: Week 1 after keyhole surgery, recovery advices are neede

Hi, I'm now coming up to 5 weeks post surgery and right side tube removal. It took me up to week four to be able to walk better and function more like I did before. My incisions healed pretty quickly and I didn't feel too much pain on the outside. I have had pain on and off on my right side and gene...

Re: Recovering and returning to work

Hello, I am nearly 5 weeks post emergency surgery and I am aiming to return to work on the 24th February. So it will be around 6 weeks that I would have had off work. The first few weeks were extremely difficult and I really struggled physically and emotionally but I noticed a huge change at about 4...

Re: Laparoscopy/Salpingectomy - Ectopic Pregnancy

Hello lovely, I had my right tube removed 4 weeks ago after a traumatic emergency op and it took me to about 5 days ago to start to feel a bit like my old self again. I've still got pain on my right side, I think it must be healing and scar tissue forming and I feel in general a bit like I have peri...

Re: Menstrual cycle after ovarian pregnancy surgery

Hi, I had surgery on the 10th Jan for ectopic in my right tube and tube removal. I bled after for about a week but I am still waiting for my period to come. The advice is that you should wait 2-3 cycles before you try again so you are physically and mentally in a better place. I understand the urgen...
