Re: 2nd ectopic in 3 months

Thank you everyone. I'm in hospital until Sunday so they can monitor bloods as I have some mild pain and am higher risk of complications anyway. We'll come up with a plan then. I just feel numb now

I'm sorry you are all going through this too

2nd ectopic in 3 months

I had a ruptured heterotopic pregnancy in December 2020. I had surgery and lost my right tube. When I found out we were pregnant again 2 weeks ago I was thrilled. It was our first cycle trying and it felt like a miracle. I went for my placement scan on Monday and they saw what could've been a gestat...

Re: Who was my baby?

Hiya, From what I've been told, they don't routinely test for gender (that would likely mean DNA testing at this point), any it is usually far too early to be able to tell from appearance alone. Your baby will always be your little one, no matter the gender, and I like to believe they will know they...

Re: Who was my baby?

Hi Moonbeam_Dream, I've had very similar thoughts, and part of the grieving process is grieving for what "could have been". I love Karen's idea of a charm bracelet, but I ordered an "acknowledgement of life" certificate - I could have chosen a name, but instead put "baby [su...

Re: How safe am I?

Hi Niki, Expectant management is becoming more and more common, where it's safe to do so, but don't be afraid to contact your EPAU and ask questions if you need to. If you experience increasing pain, dizziness or heavy bleeding - in fact, if you experience any signs of a rupture, get yourself to a h...

Re: Struggling to accept what has happened

Hi Caitmorg, I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I had surgery for my ectopic on 18th December. Even though I'm only 3 weeks post op, it feels like it's been much longer. The things I've found helpful are talking about it, and anything to keep my mind busy. Initially, that was through sleep...

Re: Bleeding after surgery

Hi Burch069, I had surgery on 18th December. What I've found out from talking to a gynaecologist at a different hospital is: some bleeding after surgery is normal, and is your body responding to the change in hormones etc, but it isnt classed as a period as you need to have ovulated for that to happ...

Re: Feeling alone

Hi Nicki, I had surgery for my ectopic on 18th December. I had some really down days and things started picking up... and then they didn't! I have times where I can't stop crying, and times where I feel almost normal again. I tried to go back to work this week and ended getting signed off for anothe...

Re: Good and bad days

Hi, Not to worry, i'm glad people are being supportive. I've told a few people at work who noticed I wasn't right, and they have been lovely. I spoke to the GP today and got signed off until the end of the week, it was definitely too soon for me. I had a team meeting this morning and they were all t...

Re: Anger or Jealousy? I'm confused

Hi Betty, I feel exactly the same way. Pregnancy or newborn babies seem to be everywhere - 3 people I know are due at a similar time to when my babies would've been due. I think for me, it is a reminder of what I've lost and what could have been, rather than being genuinely upset or angry with them....

Re: Good and bad days

I went in (well, working from home) but I've been an absolute wreck. Cried on and off since 830 and for the last hour continuously. I can't get hold of my manager this afternoon to say I need to stop working . I've just found out that someone I know who uses hard drugs is pregnant too which really h...

Re: 6 weeks post MTX, still no period?

Hiya,

I don't have personal experience (surgical management) but from what I've read on here and in other places, 6-7 weeks is the average time for a period to return, but can be a fair bit longer depending upon your own biology and how your body has responded to the MTX, stress etc

Re: Good and bad days

Hi Lolly, You're right, they would survive, it would just make things very complicated. I have a really supportive team but have only been there for 2 months, and had 3 of those weeks off! I'm going to talk to my manager tomorrow morning. I think i'm in one of those places where I can think rational...

Good and bad days

I had surgery for my ectopic on 18th December. It was a heterotopic pregnancy and I miscarried the uterine pregnancy on 10th December. That really complicated things because it meant that the EPAU didn't think the ectopic pregnancy was anything other than a cyst until I ruptured - but that's a whole...

Hi Ellie,

Have you taken a test just in case? I'd try to see your GP either way if you're not feeling quite right. I have fingers crossed that all is well for you x

Re: Any help or advice appreciated x

I'm so sorry that you're still in limbo and that you've no answers yet. I wonder whether you may have had a heterotopic pregnancy (this is what I had - unfortunately I miscarried the uterine pregnancy and then found out about the ectopic when scanned), but the consultant will hopefully be able to gi...

I think it really is a case of "whatever gets you through". Hopefully it'll be reassuring for you and don't worry too much if it doesn't show things - we are all different

Re: Pain on left side

Hi confused, Have you asked your epau about it? I had surgery on 18th Dec and have had some pain similar to what you describe but your best bet would be to check with the medics. I'm so sorry you're going through this too. I've found these forums to be helpful in the last 10 days, knowing I'm not on...

Re: Expectant management over Christmas

As awful/strange as it might sound, if it wasn't for my heterotopic pregnancy, and miscarrying the non-ectopic twin, I wouldn't have known I was pregnant, or been in the hospital when my tube ruptured. So in a way, that loss may have saved my life... I think, as humans, we will always try to find ho...
