Re: Not sure if I'm allowed to grieve and how to deal with i

I was using an IUD because my body never felt great using hormonal birth control. I was really stressed about what to do after the ectopic. My doctor suggested we just use condoms for a few months so I had some time to think about what I wanted to do. I bought a fertility monitor, so now we abstain ...

Re: Not sure if I'm allowed to grieve and how to deal with i

Hi Libertyke, I had my ectopic pregnancy in March of this year. I got pregnant while using an IUD, so I was also using a method that is supposed to be very effective. Although I do hope to be a parent someday, I did not want a child now or anytime soon really. I also loved my IUD for all the reasons...

Re: Tattoo

Yeah I was thinking about the ribbon too but once I saw this image I knew that was what I needed. It took a long time to figure out but I'm happy with how it turned out. The whole tattooing process was therapeutic for me and I'm glad I did it. I hope you find what you're looking for :)

Re: Tattoo

Mine is an arrow with a heartbeat in the middle. I can't figure out how to upload my own image, but it is similar to this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BDgvSp2QMXp/ This was the image i showed the artist to start then we changed it a bit to make it my own. My ectopic was 4 months ago on Saturday and ...

Re: First period. Please respond.

I've only had two periods since. My first one came 5 weeks after surgery and was very similar to my post-op bleed. Painful, heavy, and bright red the whole time. My second one came 27 days later and was very similar to my normal pattern (before my EP) aside from being a bit more painful than usual a...

Re: No one to talk to

I'm almost three months post-op now, and I can say it did get easier for me once I realized that it was totally okay for me to have all the emotions I was feeling even if I couldn't explain them. Mostly I went back and forth between anger and sadness but I also needed to allow myself to feel relieve...

Re: Ectopic still pains

I had my ectopic in March and was treated with laparoscopic surgery. Mine was attached in my left tube. I've had two periods since my surgery and have also had pain in my left side prior to each period. The pain is also similar to the way I was feeling when I was diagnosed. It makes me nervous every...

Re: No one to talk to

I know that I also felt pregnant for a few weeks after my surgery. As I understand it It takes time for your hcg levels to return to zero so you might still experience some pregnancy symptoms in the mean time. Its such an awful thing to experience...take care of yourself and I'll be sending positive...

Re: Still don't know how to feel

Hi Sav19, Many parts of your story are similar to mine. My ectopic pregnancy was a surprise and I was also treated with emergency surgery. So much happens all at once and it also took me quite some time after the whole ordeal to really start to process what had happened. Feeling unable / not allowed...
