Abbreviations are often used in modern life and you may find that they are being used here for certain slang and recognised terminology usually related to fertility. Hopefully these will go a little way to help anyone who is a flummoxed by the Jargon as we are.

EPT: Ectopic Pregnancy Trust

2WW: Two week wait after ovulation

AF: Aunt Flo, menstruation, period

BBT: Basal Body Temperature

BD: Baby Dance, Sex

BFN: Big Fat Negative

BFP: Big Fat Positive

BRB: Be right back

BTW: By the way

CB: Cycle Buddy - Same cycle day as yourself!

CD: Cycle Day

CL: Corpus Luteum

CM: Cervical Mucus

CP: Cervical Position

DD: Dear/Darling Daughter

DH: Dear/Darling Husband

DP: Dancing Partner; spouse, or significant other

DPO: Days Past Ovulation

DS: Dear/Darling Son

DTD: Doing The Dance, BD, sex

EC/ER: Egg Collection/Retrieval

ET: Embryo Transfer

EDD: Estimated Due Date

EWCM: Egg-White Cervical Mucus

FET: Frozen Embryo Transfer

hCG: Human Chorionic Gonadotropin

HPT: Home Pregnancy Test

HSG: Hysterosalpingogram - x-ray

ICSI: Intracytoplasmic sperm injection

IUI: Intrauterine Insemination

IVF: In Vitro Fertilization

LH: Luteinizing Hormone - detected in OPKs

LOL: Laughing Out Loud

O or OV: Ovulation

OPK: Ovulation Predictor Kit

PG: Pregnancy, pregnant

PNV: Prenatal Vitamin

POAS: Pass water on to a stick (referrs to those who use HPTs and OPKs with regularity)

ROBI: A term used which refers to Robitussin or Guaifenesin Syrup (expectorant) used to thin CM
