Back pain and periods!

Post by Claire Wilkins 17 »

Hi, I had my Ectopic in December and had my right tube removed in emergency surgery... but have a question about back pain from ovulation time (I think) leading up to periods it's unbearable to the point of tears!! Also my periods are now approximately every 25 days and last up to a week so shorter cycle and longer bleed is this normal does any one have the same??? We have just started trying again but with the back pain it's difficult if you catch my drift so any tips or help are greatly appreciated. Thanks x

Hi Claire
Yes I totally understand what your saying as I’m experiencing the same, my periods are heavy too and I get back ache a lot more now. I feel exhausted on the nights we have to try, so I’m not relaxed at all which makes it even more difficult.
Sorry I can’t give you any tips but if anyone else can please do xx

Hi
I also had a ruptured ectopic last December which resulted in my left tube being removed. Since then i have ovulation pains which are like my period, of not worse. Back pain, feeling weak anf tired, cramps...it's really like having my periods twice a month. I have been told by doctor my remaining tube can collect the ovule from the opposite ovary...but I did not expect it to be that painful..but I guess it's a combination of that and healing. My periods to now are a little shorter, but not too much, 31 days instead of 35.
Hope this will pass with time...
Wish you all the best xxx

I’ve been referred to the gynae for ongoing pains. Sometimes crippling searing awful pains for days that get worse and worse. I thought I was clearly suffering some Victorian disease that was eating me alive from the inside.

I’d read on the trust’s info that ovulation pain (which I’d experienced pre ectopic) can get worse.

Apparently this is it! Ovulation!

I still don’t know WHY the ectopic has caused ovulation to be so bloody annoying on both sides.

Before the pill used to stop my ovulation, now it doesn’t.

Just another delightful change.

You’re not alone. I feel you.

Hi!
I's so sorry to read this, but, maybe, I may help. I know, it may sounds ridiculous, but sometimes absolutely unexpectable things may help us to solve the problem. So, here is my story, in short. Recently, I noticed, that my periods became more painful, than earlier, I decided it's all because of my new work, stress and maybe way of life (office work, when you spend many hours in front of the computer sitting on a chair). But then,
I realized, that I can hardly wake up in the morning, because I'm not feeling rested. I still have tension in my back after previous day in the office, but I need stand up and spend a new day on work. I thought, it's because painful periods, but when they stopped, nothing changed...unfortunately. Every new week I felt worse about my back until I got an advice from a specialist (accidently). She said me that I should try not to sleep on my couch, but buy a bed with a frame and a good firm mattress. It was difficult decision, I was surfing the internet lots of hours, read a lot about specialized mattresses. I was pretty skeptical about purchasing a firm mattress exactly, but I wanted to buy a normal bed for a long time and that was a perfect opportunity.
So, I've found a [url removed per Trust policy] and I'm happy with it, it's much more better to sleep on it instead of my sofa. AND the best part of it- is the problems with my back gradually gone away. I mean, of course, I needed time to used to its firmness, but it worth it completely. As I got enough time for rest, my condition became better. Even if it isn't a reason of the pains, I'd like to recommend you to try analyze the way you relax during your day and before the sleep time, sometimes, it's one of the key points of our health problems.
Maybe I'm too late, but I wanted to be helpful.
