Hcg Levels

Post by Emilner90 »

Hi
I had my tube and baby removed on 9th March 2018. Just wondering when your HCG levels drop. I had my first period on 15th April which lasted 4 days.
Thank you.

Dear Emilner90

I am sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy. The experience can leave us with lots of questions and I’ll do my best to help.

The time it can take for hCG levels to drop after surgery can vary between women. This is because we are all physiologically different and can depend on how high levels were initially. Doctors don’t routinely monitor levels post-surgery and usually use the return of a woman’s period as an indicator that hCG levels have returned to non-pregnant. As you mention that you have had a period since treatment, your levels would have returned to not pregnant. I hope this helps.

Sending you lots of good wishes
Munira
