Think I'm having another ectopic!

Post by Laura1991 »

Hi just looking for advise! I had a ruptured ectopic in october last year and emergency surgery!

I started having light bleeding before my period was due and it's been on and off for 3 days now! This is what happened last time and I got a positive result straight away but then was ectopic , I took a test but was negative and I haven't had my period for a while and I keep getting a few pains low down, I'm so worried I really can't go through it again if I am pregnant

It’s probably just a stressy period if your tests are negative. Test again on Monday and if you do get a positive refer yourself immediately to early assessment pregnancy unit. They should see you as you’ve had a previous ectopic. The chances I think are in your favour 90% chance it’s going to be fine if it’s positive. With a negative test though honestly it may just be a dodgy period x

Dear Laura1991,
I am sorry to hear that you are going through a confusing time.
I would advise repeating your pregnancy test in a few days. If it remains negative and you are still having unusual bleeding or pain, please contact your GP.
Although I do not wish to alarm you I do have to remind you that if you experience any worsening abdominal pain or bleeding, shoulder tip pain, bladder or bowel problems or feel dizzy and unwell, please seek urgent medical advice.
Sending much love,
Karen x
