Constant dull niggle in ectopic site after resolved ectopic

Post by wishful »

Is is normal to feel a dull niggle in ectopic site after HCG reached non pregnancy levels post Methotrexate treatment? I was discharged from EPU last week after my HCG level reached 1. However I still feel a dull persistent niggle, in my ectopic site and am so worried.

Hi Wishful,

I'm so very sorry to hear that you've gone through an ectopic pregnancy and loss. Recovery time is very unique for each woman. It can be very normal to feel pains after surgery for ectopic pregnancy. The pain you are feeling could be due to your body healing or as a result of adhesions or scar tissue which forms as part of the recovery process. It could also be because your menstrual cycle is restarting or because of ovulation pains as many women feel ovulation pains when they did not before. It might also be as a result of heightened awareness after your ordeal.

To assist, you could keep a pain diary too - when you experience the pain and where, its intensity and anything that helps like rest or pain relief, and noting when your period starts. You can also speak to your doctors sooner, taking these notes with you a GP appointment and the details will help your doctors best manage your symptoms. It is always better to get checked out to be on the safe side.

Be well and know we are here for you.

With good wishes,

Michele

I have niggles 4 months on after watch and wait treatment, also ovulation pains which build on both sides but worse on the ectopic side.
