Pregnant and scared after Ectopic

Post by Arbf1 »

I had an Ectopic in left tube in Feb which self resolved. Today I took a test and it was positive. I'm almost 5 weeks from last period but ovulated late (day 19). I'm so scared as I'm feeling sensations on both sides and at ectopic site. My symptoms are different to last time too. Please can anyone advise if it's normal to feel things. EPU have made appointment for 6 weeks.

Hi Arbf1,

A whispered congratulations. Many women feel anxious about future pregnancies after suffering ectopic pregnancies. I did and still do. It is very good that you have your early scanned booked, and that you will be looked after very soon. I know it's easier said than done, but as much as you can do try not to stress too much before the scan. It is important to monitor your symptoms, and of course, if you have bleeding, sharp pains or shoulder tip pain, to have yourself seen at A&E.

With good wishes,

Michele
