Hormone changes after ectopic pregnancy.

Post by Woolens35 »

Hello all.
I am keen to hear/know about the effects of hormone changes post ectopic pregnancy. I am coming up to 3 weeks post op.
My body and physiology feels really different post op - I’m aware that a big part of this is recovering from surgery but it would be helpful to have some information on the hormone side of things following an ectopic pregnancy. Many thanks.

I’m 9 months down the line

Always had ovulation pains - now they’re far more pronounced on both sides and can last a week or two

Whereas the contraceptive pill before, would stop PMS and ovulation. I now ovulate despite the pill and get a cycle of PMS, albeit less

Had suspected cysts since which have caused pain

Hormone issues got so bad was offered medical menopause to turn off ovulation by consultant, which I declined. Pains seem to be settling now (on the pill) but will see what happens if/when I come off.
