Pain 3 months after an ectopic
Hi, it’s now been three months since I received the methotrexate injection. Is it normal to get pelvic pain and sometimes bleed and be sore during sex?

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Experiencing some pain after an ectopic pregnancy is normal as your body has been through a great deal over the last few months. The pain may be due to your body preparing to ovulate and many women experience ovulation pain when they did not before their ectopic pregnancy - including myself. You also may have a heightened perception because of the sad loss that you have had to go through.
Whilst bleeding is normal following ectopic pregnancy, it does usually settle after a few months and if you are bleeding only after intercourse I would advise speaking to your GP.

Hi
I had an ectopic in April, I had my first bleed/period after methotrexate at the end of April/start of may which happened to fall at same time was period was due. I then had a normal period the month after (June) but then my period in July I had cramps in one side, my period tailed off after 3 days and I have experienced twinges in my right side all throughout this cycle, some painful some not. Very similar to how my ectopic started but I have taken several pregnancy tests and all saying negative. Today I have started with a burning sensation on my right side. Is this common or should I not be having any pain? Thanks

If you find you experience offensive smelling discharge or an increased temperature of more than 37°C or just want to be checked out to be on the safe side, it would be worth asking your doctors to run tests to check for infection. Having said this, if the pain is worsening, I would advise speaking to your GP, especially if there is a chance you could be pregnant. It could also be something like a urinary tract infection.
