Scar hurting 10 months later

Post by Laura1991 »

Hi I have an ectopic 10 months ago and had emergency surgery, my scar healed nicely and I had no problems but now for some reason my scar is really hurting on one side and it's enough to make me stop doing what I was doing, the scar itself looks fine tho and isn't red or swollen, is this normal, in some areas it still feels numb where my scar is too

Thanks in advance

Hi Laura1991,

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having pain from the scar left from the surgery. Because scar tissue forms after surgery, it is possible that we feel this tissue in different ways, even well beyond the operation, where we wouldn't have noticed that spot previously. However, not being medically trained, I'd also suggest to keep an eye on it and note when/where it hurts if you take any pain relievers for it, and for peace of mind, taking this information to share with your GP.

With good wishes,

Michele
