Right tube ectopic and left ovary cyst

Post by Trulybella »

I am so confused. Can someone please explain ... I had an ectopic pregnancy that was in my right tube. Looking at my records it appears i also had a cyst on my left ovary. When questioning the doc about it she mentioned that the benign cyst was attached to the tube and cyst was removed along with the tube. How is this possible ? How can a left ovarian cyst be attached to the right tube? Someone please explain. Thank you so much.

Dear Trulybella,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss.
You are right in that, that doesn't make much sense. Unfortunately I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice, but I would advise speaking to your GP who maybe able to clarify things from information that maybe written on a discharge letter. Either that or you can contact the Patient Advice Liaison Service (PALS) with your question, who will be able to look at your scan results, read your medical notes and provide you with the information.
Sending much love,
Karen x
