Irregular periods

Post by Bori317 »

My first period was normal after the ectopic laparoscopy surgery. I solely have my left tube because my right tube was damaged. My next period came a couple days early. It started out as spotting then became red and heavy. Now I am on my fourth day and have a light flow, the color is redish brown. I am wondering if this is normal. I do have some concern that it can be implantation bleeding but I do know that periods may be irregular due to surgery. I just want to know if anyone has had periods like this. I also do intend to take a test after the bleeding ceases.

Dear Bori317,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Periods can change for a few months after ectopic pregnancy.
Unfortunately we all experience bleeding from periods differently, some ladies will bleed quite heavily, some will only spot for a few days, so it is very difficult to say what is normal. What I would advise is if this is different or unusual for you, especially if it is accompanied by pain which is worsening, to seek medical advice.
Sending much love,
Karen x
