Pain 3 weeks later

Post by Spotter1 »

I had my left fallopian tube removed three weeks ago and had very little pain post surgery. I got (what seems to be) my period 5 days ago and started to experience pain in my left shoulder. The pain has also intensified in my pelvis region with some dull pain in my left leg and lower back area. I'm concerned as to what's happening with me now. I do not have a fever or feel nauseous etc. Any advise much appreciated, thank you

Dear Spotter1,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
It sounds like you have started your period. The first period may be more painful or less so than usual, heavier or lighter, last for longer or shorter than usual – there really is no set pattern. You should be able to manage the discomfort with over-the-counter pain relief and should not be soaking a pad in less than an hour. If this is not the case, you should seek medical attention as pain is so subjective.
Sending much love,
Karen x
