Dear hCG plateau,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Occasionally we hear from women who have hCG levels that plateau, it can just take a few weeks longer to settle. I presume you have further follow up blood tests and it is good that you have a scan booked.
Sending much love,
Karen x

Hello love,

I had exactly this although my initial HCGs weren’t as high as yours. The consultant said it was most likely a trophoblastic remnant and it would just slowly reabsorb, which it did.
My levels plateaued at about 19. She said that in all likelihood my cycles might return as such a low level - sure enough I had a long, heavy bleed (more so than a normal period) and then a quick cycle with no signs of ovulation or anything else really, and then the following cycle was like everything was really amped up - I’ve just found out I’m pregnant again and about 5 weeks now.

The wait was bloody hard, and seemed never-ending - just wanted it all to be over. Fingers crossed things sort themselves quickly for you. Hope that helps - I was really in the dark as to why my pregnancy tests were still super super faintly positive, and it helped me get my head around it a bit.

Wishing you lots of luck and strength - it’s really tough, but you’ll see the light again soon. Xxxxxxx

Would have been helpful to add that I plateaued for about 5-6 weeks, but the period seemed to help with the final push. Xxx
