HCG Levels dropping and rising

Post by Krissymcg »

Hi,

I started spotting two weeks ago and have been in and out of hospital for scans and blood tests since. My HCG levels initially rose to 550 and then came down every few days to 286, 210, 186 with this in mind it’s been decided to go the expectant management route. Then today my levels had gone up to 210. They want to see me again in two days to check levels again. The anxiety is beginning to get a bit much and I wondered if anyone had experienced this kind of pattern with a rise followed by a fall? I am starting to just want the injection so I can start looking forward.

Dear Krissymcg,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
It is good that you are being monitored closely, If your levels rise again you may well find that you are offered the methotrexate injection, as long as it is suitable for you. You can always speak to your medical team if they do not seem keen and discuss with them how it is affecting you psychologically too.

Sending much love,
Karen x
