Are Antibiotics not necessary for Laparoscopic Ectopic pregnancy and fallopian tube removal?
Are Antibiotics not necessary for Laparoscopic Ectopic pregnancy and fallopian tube removal?
Re: Are Antibiotics not necessary for Laparoscopic Ectopic pregnancy and fallopian tube removal?
I do not know the answer . I am just posting to add about the pain I had in my legs. I read that is really dangerous to have a thrombosis after this kind of surgery . Something nobody told me about. So I tried to be active doing short walks even with the pains of the surgery. I think it made the diference or smth bad could had happened again.
Keep positive . My thought is:
- Even if there is 1% of chance , still hope.
All the best .

I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
In the UK, it is not common to have antibiotics post surgery for ectopic pregnancy. Antibiotics are used to treat bacterial infection and so unless there is evidence of infection, they will not be needed. Don't forget surgery is completed as sterile a procedure, so it reduces the risk of infection.
However if you find that you have an increased body temperature of more than 37°C or offensive smelling discharge or the wound site starts oozing or feels hot to touch, please do get medical attention as soon as possible as these can be signs of infection.
Sending much love,
Karen x
