Pulling at the remaining Tube

Post by Shatira1118 »

Hello everyone... I had an EP and had to have my right Fallopian tube removed on April 5, 2021. This is one of the most hurtful things I ever had to experience. My heart goes out for anyone that experienced an EP. I am 6 weeks 1 day out of surgery and now I am having an irritating/pulling sensation at my remaining tube (left tube). I have not started my cycle yet, which I am worried about. I know I’m not pregnant, but I really want to know what’s going on.. have anyone else felt the same thing I’m feeling? It’s so irritating to the point I don’t want to walk because of the pulling sensation. It doesn’t hurt, it just feels really weird to me. What is going on? Is this ovulation? My dr said my left tube, and everything else looks fine, but this pulling feeling is not ok with me

Hi. I'm sorry you had to go through such a terrible thing as ectopic. I had my ectopic around 1.5 years ago and it was removed with my right tube. Over next months after surgery I had a lot of random pains on the side of my ectopic and in the opposite tube. To he honest I still have them especially around ovulation time and before period. I also remember that my first ovulation after surgery was really painful. However, the pain I experience is bearable even without painkillers and doesn't affect affect my daily activities too much. If you're pain affects you a lot or you're in doubts I'd recommend you to contact your GP.

Dear Shatira,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Experiencing some pain after an ectopic pregnancy is normal as your body has been through a great deal over the last month and you are still in the early stages of recovery. The pain may be due to adhesions (scar tissue that binds two parts of the body together) which form and take some time to settle. Your body may be preparing to ovulate and many women experience ovulation pain when they did not before their ectopic pregnancy - including myself. You also may have a heightened perception because of the sad loss that you have had to go through. If you find you experience offensive smelling discharge or an increased temperature of more than 37°C or just want to be checked out to be on the safe side, it would be worth asking your doctors to run tests to check for infection.

Whilst the pain is normal, If it persists, I suggest keeping a pain diary noting when the pain appears, the intensity on a scale of 0-10 and anything that helps the pain eg resting, hot water bottle, paracetamol etc. Visiting your doctors with this information helps them to assess how best to manage your symptoms.so

Please also take it easy whilst you are still recovering,
Sending much love,
Karen x

Thank you all for responding! I went to the dr. and I was tested for infections. Everything came back negative. Therefore, I think my body is still healing just as you said. I’m going to give it more time.. and be patient with myself. Thank you both!
