Did anyone else have very dry skin after surgery?

Post by AstelSeptember »

Hi

I’m 3 weeks post Ectopic surgery and my skin is incredibly dry - peeling all over like after a holiday.

No amount of moisturiser or exfoliating is helping - is this a common side effect of your hormones dropping after/body recovering?

I’ve stopped googling for answers as I find you end up seeing 10 times as many upsetting things you don’t want to see vs the 1 useful bit of info you are looking for.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dear AstelSeptember,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy and loss,
Our bodies are put under a lot of strain following ectopic pregnancy, and the side effects from general anaesthetic. Sadly however I am not medically trained so cannot give you specific advice on your symptoms, so I would advise speaking to your GP.
In the meantime, keeping well hydrated and using a good moisturiser at least 4 times a day may help. Speaking to a pharmacist will aid in choosing a good moisturiser.
Sending much love,
Karen x
