2nd ectopic, lost both fallopian tubes and diagnosed SIN

Post by Angela83 »

Hi, my story is a difficult one and I'm struggling with both news and loss. I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2015 which ruptured required immediate surgery and loss of my tube. In 2016 I did go on to have a healthy pregnancy and had my son. I always wanted, dreamed of a family. I struggled to come to terms with my first ectopic as it reduced my fertility but I lucky enough to have a positive pregnancy. I found out 4 weeks ago I was pregnant, I was so happy as it would be my last chance but I started to see the familiar warning signs. After blood tests and scans it was confirmed it was another ectopic and close to ending the same way, I had surgery and lost my other fallopian tube. Unfortunately my hcg started to increase again and after extensive investigation I've been diagnosed with Salpingitis isthmica nodosa (SIN) and is why I had ectopics. Because of this I still have remaining tissue and require methotrexate as well to clear this. I feel like I have been to [heck] and back, I'm struggling to come to terms with everything and that my fertility is now gone and moving forward seems more difficult than ever.

Just want to say how strong you are and that I'm thinking of you. You are not alone. I wish I could say something more useful. But you WILL make it through this. Thoughts, love and prayers your way.
