Bleeding after ectopic

Post by Lauren01 »

Hi everyone,

Just looking for some advice. I had an ectopic in my right tube an was managed expectantly was discharged from my EPU on Monday as my hcg levels had finally dropped to 2 so now classed as negative an ectopic resolved.

My issue is I have started bleeding again since Thursday a now worrying if that’s normal and what it could be as was told my period would be in 4-6 weeks so unlikely to be my period.

When I was discharged I was told I shouldn’t have anymore bleeding so now I’m panicking that something is wrong.
Has anyone else had this? Any advice much appreciated x

Dear Lauren,
Bleeding is common following ectopic pregnancy and as your hCG levels.have now reached pre-pregnancy levels, you may find that you do bleed a little more.
If you are bleeding heavily so that you need to change sanitary wear every half an hour or less, you do need to seek urgent medical advice.
I think this bleed is because your levels have dropped rather than a period.
We have more information on our website which I have added here and I hope helps
