Listen to your body always

Post by Kirstyvic »

My ectopic story in a nutshell 🥰

Last Thursday I was "finally" diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy in my left tube
Friday I was booked for surgery however the consultant said because was small I had no pain or symptoms we try the methotrexate injection
Saturday I had the injection and all was okay still no real symptoms

I go back yesterday for my 4 day blood test & unfortunately was in pain, the surgeon scanned me and saw fluid around the ectopic and I was taken to emergency surgery, the results of the methotrexate came back and my hcg had halved just unfortunately was a little too late to save my tube.

I had absolutely NO pain and spotting only, I didn't have severe pain, I didn't have shoulder pain and I didn't bleed heavy just light spotting and only reason I knew something was wrong is it felt different to a miscarriage

I am so lucky I am so aware of my body because my ectopic began to rupture, if I hadn't of got checked today, tomorrow could've been a different story.

GIRLS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY, YOUR GUT AND YOUR HEAD, YOU KNOW YOURSELF BETTER THAN ANYONE.

Dear Kirsty,
I am so sorry to hear of your ectopic pregnancy loss,
Thank you for taking the time to raise awareness of your minor change in symptoms. Ectopic pregnancy can be tricky to diagnose and treat precisely because it doesn't have a defined set of symptoms and everyone's experience is different.

I'm glad you listened to your body and sought help when you did. Take care of yourself and allow time to heal both physically and emotionally. We will be here for you for as long as you need,
Sending much love,
Karen x
