Sian ran in the Robin Hood Half Marathon

11 Oct 2023 | By Jill

I started running following my ectopic pregnancy back in 2017. I needed something to help with my emotions and found running helped me process the ectopic pregnancy and on many occasions cry. I was fortunate I had a wonderful supportive family including my husband and parents. However I struggled and it took me a long time to find myself again.

There was no question about it once I found The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust where I was welcomed with open arms and was listened to, I always wanted to give back. I participated in the first EPT80 in 1 challenge and it kind of went from there.

I was absolutely terrified and emotional on the day of the half marathon. I felt under prepared and worried I wouldn’t finish. However I just kept telling myself why I was doing it. I completed the half marathon in 2 hours and 22 minutes. I was so proud of myself. I just wanted to help others access the same resources I have when I went through my ectopic pregnancy.

Thank you so much to Sian for her continued support and for taking on this half marathon that pushed her out of her comfort zone and in doing so raising much needed funds and awareness.
